Welcome to the Children's Room!

We serve children from newborn to 5th grade, parents, caregivers, educators and others working with children and children's literature.  The Children's Room is a wonderful space for playing, learning, exploring, relaxing and, of course, reading!  Our collection includes fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, magazines, music, movies and audiobooks.  Children and parents/caregivers can enjoy computers, iPads, blocks, puzzles, toys and plenty of comfy chairs, cushions and beanbags to curl up with a good book.

Meet the friendly faces of the Children's Room

My name is Miss Amy and I'm thrilled to be your Children's Librarian! When I was little, I used to pretend that I worked in a library, and now I do. My favorite series of all time is Harry Potter, and I'm convinced that my Hogwarts letter is simply late. When I'm not at the library, I love to watch ballroom dancing, listen to audio books and run for miles and miles.

My name is Sandy and you see me in the children’s room. I have white hair. My desk is in the corner of the Children’s Room Office and I have lots of animals and toys on it because I love animals, especially if they are furry and soft. I also love owls and to hoot. I have two cats that were adopted from a rescue group- Lucy a beautiful black cat, and Ella a wee grey tabby.

Getting a library card!

Children ages 5 and older who can write their first and last name can get their own library card!  Children must be accompanied by a parent.  For more details, please read our library card policy.
