Hi! My name is Jonathan. Welcome back to Abington Public Library for another segment of APL Book Bites, where we review some of our favorite books and more.

Anyone who knows me personally will not be surprised by my pick for this Book Bite - Absolute Martian Manhunter Vol. 1: Martian Vision written by Deniz Camp and art by Javier Rodriguez. Volume 1 collects issues 1 through 6 of the limited series. This limited series has been at the top of a lot of peoples best comics of 2025 and it just won 4 Eisner Awards at the 2026 San Diego Comic Con. This series is made for anybody interested - superhero fan or not. Not only is it an entire reinterpretation of the character but other than a page or two there is a profound lack of costumed vigilantes and caped heroes. That does not stop it from being just as wacky and weird. If you're a fan of the works of Christopher Nolan or David Lynch, this mind-bending take on a decade old character might be just up your alley and if it is keep an eye out for volume 1.
