Hi! My name is Jonathan. Welcome back to Abington Public Library for APL Book Bites, where we review some of our favorite books and more.
I am changing up the pace with this Book Bite by not talking about a book at all. The library has recently curated a collection of board games and card games donated by patrons over the last couple years and they are now barcoded and ready to be checked out! We have got games of every genre for all ages, but I am going to put the spotlight on a game called Flip 7, the greatest card game of all time, according to its log line. The name may sound familiar if you are a fan of Youtube channels like Smosh that have made videos centered around playing games like this. This game is designed for 3 or more people with recommended ages 8 and older. Stick around and I’ll do a quick run down of the rules.
The objective is to be the first player to score 200 points. Each round the dealer will hand out 1 card to each player at the start and from then on each player will decide to “hit” or “settle” similar to blackjack but far less stressful in my opinion. The goal is to flip 7 (wink) cards without having duplicates of any number. If you draw any duplicates you forfeit your points from that round. The round ends when either every player has been eliminated or some one successfully flips over 7 cards. You play until someone reaches 200 points. We have plenty of fantastic games like this and plenty of fantastic games nothing like this. Come in and take a look at our shelves and we’ll see you next time!
This has been APL Book Bites, brought to you by the Abington Public Library, and we’ll see you next time! Bye!
