Children's Room

We serve children from newborn to 5th grade, parents, caregivers, educators and others working with children and children's literature.  The Children's Room is a wonderful space for playing, learning, exploring, relaxing and, of course, reading!  Our collection includes fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, magazines, music, movies and audiobooks.  Children and parents/caregivers can enjoy computers, iPads, blocks, puzzles, toys and plenty of comfy chairs, cushions and beanbags to curl up with a good book.

Miss Amy is our Children's Librarian and her desk is in the Children's Room.
Miss Sandy is our Assistant Librarian, Children's Services and her desk is also in the Children's Room.
Miss Heidi is our Staff Librarian, Children's Services and her desk is in the Staff Room, but she can often be found in the Children's Room or the Circulation Desk.

While these three people are the official Children's Room staff, every librarian at the Abington Public Library is a Children's Librarian.

Getting a library card!

Children ages 5 and older who can write their first and last name can get their own library card!  Children must be accompanied by a parent.  For more details, please read our library card policy.
