Story Times
for our youngest readers
Aside from the Story Hours we offer in the Children’s Room, we are pleased to offer Lego Club, Crafternoons, the Preschool Playgroup, Family Lego Nights and other fun events that happen (think Snowflake Workshop.) And we have plenty of games should you just want to hang with family and friends for an impromtu part of your day.
Any Monday Morning When We Are Open
Drop In Toddler Time 10:30
Toddler Time continues on Monday morning! Join Miss Sandy (or Miss Heidi or Mrs. Grimmett) on Monday morning at 10:30 AM for a few short stories, songs, puppet visits, egg shaking, and scarf waving. Toddler Time is a 20 minute program that is geared towards children ages newborn - 3. Monday Morning Toddler Time is drop in, no pre-registration required, but get a name sticker when you arrive.
Toddler Times are funded by the Friends of the Library.
Wednesday, September 4
Story Hour Registrations Start 10:00
Registration for the fall story hour session opens up on Wednesday, September 4th! We are offering three weekly registered progarms:
- Toddler Time returns for a ten-week session on Wednesdays at 10:30 this fall! Children ages 0-3 and their parent/caregiver are invited to join Miss Amy for 20 minutes of short stories, songs, rhymes, scarf waving, egg shaking, puppet visits, and a whole lot of fun! Toddler Time will run from September 18th through November 20th.
- Preschool Story Hour returns on Thursdays at 11:15 this fall! Children ages 3-5, who are able to separate from their parent/caregiver, are invited to join Miss Amy for 30 minutes of longer stories, rhymes, songs, and the chance to "Go Bananas!" After we finish with our stories, the grownups are invited into the story room to help with the day's craft. Preschool story hour will run from September 19th through November 21st.
- Miss Heidi is running her popular Preschool Playgroup on Tuesday mornings from 11:15-12:00 this fall from September 17 - October 29! Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to join Miss Heidi for 50 minutes of stories, songs, play and fun. This is a registered event with limited space.
*Once a child is registered, they hold a spot for the entire session.
*We require in-person registration for the first three days after registration opens, and we will take names over the phone or email on Saturday, September 7th.
Preschool Play Group
Tuesdays from September 17 - October 29 11:15 - 12:00
It's time for a whole lot of fun with Preschool Playgroup! We will move, read, think, create, laugh and play together in this fun-filled, 45-minute playgroup for children ages 3+ and a caregiver. One registration will hold your spot for all 7 weeks. Space is limited but siblings are welcome. Please call, email Miss Heidi or swing by the Children's Room if you have any questions.
Registered Toddler Time
Wednesdays from September 18 - November 20 10:30
Join Miss Amy on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 AM this fall for a registered toddler time program! Toddler Time is a 20-minute program consisting of short stories, songs, scarf waving, egg shaking, and a puppet visit. This program is best suited for children ages 0-3. Saturday Family Story Hours
Saturdays we are open @ 11:00
Family Story Hour is a great way to end a busy morning and get ready for lunch. Join Miss Kim or one of our other Children's Librarians for 20 - 30 minutes of stories and songs that we try to tailor to the group that attends. There is no need to register and we try to have this Family Story Hour any Saturday we are open.
