Adult Book Clubs
The Abington Public Library offers many opportunities for adults to talk about books.
The Non-Fiction Book Club typically meets one Wednesday per month at 7:00 PM in the Copeland Room. This group has been meeting since 2012 and discusses a wide-range of Non-Fiction titles. This group is facilitated by Library Director Deborah Grimmett, Library Trustee Chair Henry DiCarlo and former Library Trustee Will Adamczyk. Meetings are usually the third or fourth week of the month. Please see our calendar for the current schedule. New members are always welcome - simply read the book and join us at a meeting! The Popular Fiction Book Club meets one Wednesday evening per month at 7:00 PM on Zoom. This virtual group explores a wide variety of novels. The Popular Fiction Book Club is facilitated by Library Director Deborah Grimmett. Meetings are typically on the first Wednesday of the month, with occasional variations. The Native Authors Book Club meets one Tuesday evening a month at 7:00 Pm in person. The Native Authors Book CLub is an in person book clulb and is facilitated by Patricia Pflaumer and meets in the Copeland Room. Book Talk is a literary fiction discussion group sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Book Talk meets at 10:15 AM, one Monday per month from September through May; this group does not meet in June, July, August and December. The Mystery Book Club is, as the name suggests, a book group dedicated to discussing mystery and suspense titles, sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The Mystery Book Club meets at 7:00 PM one Tuesday per month from September through May; this group does not meet in June, July, August or December.
